About
Enterprise operations are still held together by emails, spreadsheets, and systems that don’t talk to each other. The gap isn’t model capability — it’s turning messy, exception-heavy workflows into systems that actually run end-to-end.
You’d join a seed-stage team (~35 people, ~50% engineering) building an agentic platform already used by enterprise retail teams. The product runs live workflows across supplier portals, ERPs, inboxes, and internal tools — often without clean APIs or well-defined processes.
This is product-heavy engineering. You own a slice of the system end-to-end — from defining the problem to shipping reliable workflows in production. The team is small, iteration is weekly, and decisions are driven by real customer usage.
What you’ll do
- Own and ship product initiatives end-to-end across backend, frontend, and infrastructure
- Build agentic workflows that operate across APIs, UIs, and external systems
- Design systems that handle long-running, exception-heavy processes reliably
- Work with LLMs in production — orchestration, evaluation, and failure handling
- Make architectural decisions across services, data, and system boundaries
- Partner with product to define scope, prioritise work, and ship quickly
- Improve system reliability, observability, and performance under real usage
- Contribute to engineering standards and technical direction
What you’ll need
- Strong software engineering experience in high-bar environments (startup, scale-up, or similar)
- Track record of shipping end-to-end systems: UI -> API -> data -> deployment
- Strong TypeScript and/or Python experience
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs or agent-style systems in production
- Solid system design skills, especially in distributed or messy environments
- High ownership — comfortable taking ambiguous problems to production
- Strong product judgement — you optimise for outcomes, not just technical elegance
Optional Bonus
- Experience with workflow automation or enterprise systems
- Exposure to GCP, Kubernetes, or cloud-native infrastructure
- Background in fast-moving, product-led teams
